IN the recently concluded Jinseo Arigato International Film Festival held in Japan, Direk Njel de Mesa’s independent film studio wins big as “Best Independent Film Studio” while making history as the first independent film studio to release 6 unreleased films simultaneously in an international film festival.

Ms. Jan Christine Reyes, Executive VP of NDMstudios, emotionally accepted the awards with the men and women of NDMstudios Japan and Philippines backing her up. In her acceptance speech, she thanked the jury, the organizers, the Consulate General of the Philippines Roy Ecraela, Mr. Takuji Sawada and the executives of “The Earth Inc.”, Nestor Puno of the FCCJ, SBI Remit, Jury Member Mr. Raoul Imbach, and Mr. Jared Dougherty VP of Sony Pictures Asia.

Arci Muñoz, one of the studios producing partner, was also awarded “Best International Filipino Actress” while Kiray Celis was awarded “Most Versatile Comedienne” for her role in Njel de Mesa’s Malditas in Maldives.

Present in the occasion was GMA Senior VP, Ms. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Talent Manager for Sparkle, Tracy Garcia—as well as, Chief Persida Acosta and Senator Bong Go. Other big winners were Ms. Nora Aunor, Arnold Reyes, Daiana Menezes, Sanya Lopez, and Kelvin Miranda.
