Ice Seguerra's "Videoke Hits" Concert Returns by Popular Demand on June 1

DUE to overwhelming demand and the resounding success of his initial two-night concert, beloved OPM singer Ice Seguerra proudly announces the repeat of his ultimate sing-along event, "Videoke Hits," set to take place on June 1 at the Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan.

"You asked for it!" Seguerra excitedly shared. "My sold-out concert 'Videoke Hits' is having a repeat on June 1 at the Music Museum! When it comes to videoke, one or two rounds just aren’t enough. Haha! For everyone who wanted more or missed out on tickets, here’s your chance to experience the ultimate videoke event of the year!"

Ice Seguerra totally rocked the stage on May 10 and 11, leaving everyone absolutely wowed with a performance that's going to be talked about for a long time. The concerts were a perfect showcase of Ice's knack for drawing people in and keeping them hooked, proving he's one of the most engaging performers out there. The vibe was through the roof as Ice belted out hit after hit, mixing up different styles to keep things fresh and everyone on their toes.

The crowd couldn't get enough, cheering wildly after each song and showing just how much they loved his tunes. One of the coolest parts of the night was the sing-along bits, where fans got to join in, making it feel like a big, awesome jam session. These moments really brought everyone together, creating a super fun and connected atmosphere.

With an unbeatable combo of energy, charm, and musical variety, Ice Seguerra's gigs on May 10 and 11 were more than just concerts—they were unforgettable experiences that people are going to hold dear. Those nights just cemented Ice's spot in the hearts of music fans and showcased his incredible talent for bringing folks together with the magic of music.

"Dahil videoke kakantahin ko mga kanta na ‘di ko kinakanta sa harap ninyo. Pagpasensyahan niyo ako. Ito first time ko gagawin sa harap niyo. Kaya ano mangyari, palakpakan niyo ko. Pag hindi, I swear guys," joked Ice Seguerra.

The concert, a blend of nostalgia and innovation, captivated the audience from start to finish. The evening kicked off with Ice's renditions of beloved classics like "The Search is Over" and "Time and Tide," set against the backdrop of a humorous video homage to iconic videoke moments. This set the tone for a night that was as much a celebration of music as it was a journey through memories.

One of the highlights was the "By Request" segment, a testament to Ice's connection with his fans. Attendees were given the power to choose songs for Ice to perform live, with the selections revealed to him a mere 15 minutes before taking the stage. This interactive experience brought a thrilling unpredictability to the show, showcasing Ice's versatility and spontaneity.

The concert also featured a medley of hits from Kitchie Nadal, Backstreet Boys, and the Spice Girls, with Ice bringing his unique flair to each performance. Notably, his rendition of "Stop" by the Spice Girls, where he channeled Baby Spice and delivered a show-stopping rap session with "Super Bass," was a crowd favorite.

In the "Ice-fied" segment, Ice put his personal spin on karaoke favorites, including "Dancing Queen," "Build Me Up Buttercup," and "Superstar" by The Carpenters. Each song was transformed, infused with Ice's signature style, and delivered with a fresh energy that breathed new life into these well-loved classics. The emotional core of the evening was Ice's duet with his father, presented via a video wall.

This, along with a tribute to his mother in the audience and a touching rendition of "Araw Gabi" dedicated to his wife, Liza, showcased the depth of Ice's artistry and the personal significance of the night.

The event also featured special guest appearances from notable artists such as Cooky Chua, Noel Cabangon, Bayang Barrios, Aia de Leon, and Acel. These collaborations, with each artist bringing their unique sound to the concert, Ice's ability to blend different genres and eras of music, coupled with his genuine connection with the audience, made for a memorable experience that attendees will cherish for years to come.

"Videoke Hits isn't just a concert. It's the ultimate fan experience. Join us on June 1 for a chance to sing along with Ice. Let's make unforgettable memories together," added Liza Dino-Seguerra, CEO of Fire and Ice LIVE!

Globe's 'Hapag Movement' Reaches International Donors via Partnership with UN World Food Programme

GLOBE has partnered with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to open up the Hapag Movement to international donors, launching the collaboration on World Hunger Day to spotlight the lingering hunger problem in the Philippines.

Driving on the positive momentum the Hapag Movement has built over the past two years, this landmark collaboration takes the initiative to the global stage, enabling Globe to rally support from individuals and organizations outside the country.

The partnership is seen to expand the Hapag Movement’s donor reach and amplify its impact. So far, it has helped feed over 95,000 beneficiaries and produced 2,662 livelihood training graduates since its launch in 2022.

The Hapag Movement aims to address involuntary hunger by providing sustainable feeding and livelihood training to vulnerable families, leveraging partnerships to raise funds and reach communities. By joining forces with the UN World Food Programme, Globe hopes to tap the Filipino diaspora and get support from other international donors to bring urgent help to the hungry.

Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer, and Dipayan Bhattacharyya, WFP Philippines Country Director ad interim, seal their partnership to address involuntary hunger in the Philippines.

"We are privileged to collaborate with the UN World Food Programme, global leader in the fight against hunger and the largest international ally of the Hapag Movement. With their support, we are optimistic about mobilizing the global donor community to tackle the urgent issue of hunger in the Philippines,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at Globe.

Hunger persists as a critical challenge in the country. According to the latest Social Weather Stations survey, nearly 4 million Filipino families experienced involuntary hunger in the first quarter of 2024. The Philippines also scored 14.8 on the 2023 Global Hunger Index, indicating a "moderate" level of hunger.

“Private sector partnerships are critical in achieving UN Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. Globe’s expansive network will allow us to support more food-insecure Filipinos. We are grateful for Globe's strong commitment to address hunger,” said Dipayan Bhattacharyya, WFP Philippines Country Director ad interim.

Founded in 1961, the UN World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian organization addressing hunger and promoting food security. With over 23,000 staff in more than 120 countries and territories, WFP provides life-saving food assistance in emergencies and works with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience.

WFP runs the ShareTheMeal initiative founded in 2015, having provided over 226 million meals and garnered 1.6 million supporters across 38 countries, including the Philippines. For as low as Php40 pesos and a few taps on the phone, anyone can provide a nourishing meal to someone in need.

Donations can be made beginning today by visiting the Hapag Movement challenge link on ShareTheMeal.  In addition, Globe and GCash customers all around the world will soon be able to donate to ShareTheMeal through the GlobeOne and GCash apps.

WFP also assists Walang Gutom 2027, a nutrition-sensitive program led by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to address involuntary hunger, and works with the Philippine Government to expand the School-Based Feeding Program. Funds raised through this partnership will be channeled to WFP to support the implementation of school meals and Walang Gutom 2027: Food e-Voucher Program.

“The DSWD welcomes this partnership between Globe and the World Food Programme that will boost our full-scale implementation of the Walang Gutom 2027 Food Stamps Program for the benefit of food poor families,” DSWD Usec. Eduardo Punay.

“Both organizations had significant contributions to the success of the flagship program’s pilot implementation.  The Department is glad to again share with Globe and WFP the goal of addressing hunger and malnutrition in our country in pursuit of the Marcos Jr. administration’s whole-of-nation approach in tackling socio-economic problems,” he added.

Puregold unveils “Nasa Atin ang Panalo” music video featuring the ultimate OPM collaboration of SB19, BINI, SunKissed Lola and Flow G

AFTER weeks of building anticipation and dropping hints on their social media platforms, Puregold has finally unveiled the music video to the new song “Nasa Atin ang Panalo.”

Released this past May 25, the video is a must-watch for Pinoy pop fans. It serves as the ultimate collaboration of four of the country’s most sizzling musical acts: SB19, BINI, SunKissed Lola, and Flow G.

SB19

“These four artists are the powerhouse acts in Philippine music today. Collaborating with them is an excellent opportunity to reinforce Puregold's brand message,” said Vincent Co, President of Puregold Price Club, Inc.

“Puregold proudly celebrates their achievements and is dedicated to continuously uplifting Filipino talent. And as we look forward to our 500th store milestone, it’s a privilege to have these artists produce a song that authentically represents our core values.”

BINI

The music video shows all four acts together singing and dancing along in a stylized Puregold store. They flaunt their diverse talents: harmonizing, dancing to exciting choreography, playing instrumental solos, or, in the case of Flow G, writing and rapping their own verses.

Beyond just the monumental feat of having all four mega acts in a single music video for the same song, “Nasa Atin ang Panalo” also celebrates the people of Puregold. Dancing alongside them and sharing the spotlight in the music video are the everyday shoppers and store staff that keep Puregold a running success from day to day. Puregold’s very own Aling Puring even makes an appearance to jam with the country’s biggest stars.

SUNKISSED LOLA

The song perfectly captures the “panalo” spirit that has defined Puregold’s long history in the retail business. Beyond that, it also speaks to the “panalo” stories of the artists involved in creating it. Each one has come into this project with their own stories of success.

SunKissed Lola’s relentless ascent in the industry affirms their commitment to turning dreams into reality. BINI’s growth and coming-of-age narrative serves as a reminder of the profound value of transformation and evolution over time. Flow G’s unwavering determination in the face of constant obstacles demonstrates his resilience and resolve to forge ahead. SB19’s journey, filled with triumphs and trials, is a powerful example of the ability to bounce back and confront each new day.

FLOW G & ALING PURING

The collaborative song combines all of these elements in a single that can be enjoyed online now and soon on streaming platforms like Spotify.

Excitingly for Pinoy pop fans, there’s even more looming on the horizon. All four artists have already teased solo tracks that will soon drop with Puregold in the forthcoming weeks. Each new original song will dive further into the artists’ individual qualities that have allowed them to reach their “always panalo” dreams. Fans are encouraged to keep a close eye on Puregold’s social media accounts for further developments.

PVL gets thumbs up from MTRCB for heeding call for a more Ethical and Responsible Sports Environment

THE Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has expressed support for the Premier Volleyball League’s (PVL) initiative to establish a code of ethics and disciplinary regulations in response to a viral incident where a Petrogazz player was seen making a profane gesture on live television.

The MTRCB summoned the PVL, the show producers, and broadcasters (Nine Media and Cignal TV) to ensure compliance with ethical broadcasting standards.

“We in the MTRCB are happy that our dialogue contributed to building a more ethical and responsible sports environment,” MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said.

“On and off the court, they are not just athletes; they are role models who influence young viewers. Therefore, they should be more prudent and accountable for their actions," she said.

“Young girls and boys look up to them; they should be setting good examples as athletes especially. But I appreciate PVL for taking action, especially for creating their own code of ethics,” Sotto added.

PVL Commissioner Sherwin Malonzo announced that the league has already drafted a comprehensive code of conduct, which outlines the process, penalties, and sanctions for any breaches.
